I've been watching the church DVD Special Witnesses of Christ . Have you noticed how they use Jerusalem, Tomb of Joseph of Arimathea and The Garden of Gethsemane to speak from ? They do like to use Biblical Archeology to know where they should be .
So why not speak from The Waters Of Mormon or from Zarahemla or from Hill Cumorah ( the real one !!) . Because they haven't a clue as to their whereabouts !!
It's amazing how they rely on Biblical Archeology and History and at the same time say its not needed for Faith when it's brought up about their own Book Of Mormon History . Faith itself wouldn't have brought them to Jerusalem's biblical sites .They looked on a map to find it .
I bet they would love to stand and speak at the Book Of Mormon sites but so far no revelation of their locations ??

In the Book of Mormon, We read this Ether 15: 2

According to Mormons, this took place in modern day New York, and the Hill cumorh. If this really took place, how come their is zero evidence of it, Not one single sword, sheild, coin, or dead body has EVER been found.
It's so bad, the LDS are starting to think it really took place in another place. How sad. Rick b

ReplyDeleteThe everyday Mormon does not take the time to think about the simple fact that there is NO proof of the BOM in the ground. I would love to get a hold of this DVD and see what they are saying about Christ. I shiver at the thought that they are trying harder than ever to pull the wool over everyones eyes. I have a fellow Christian believer with a Mormon neighbor that really believes that she is a Christian. I gave her my blog, I hope that both of them will learn a bit of truth!

Read "Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon Is This the Place?" by Dr. John L Lund. The author has been called a genius at analyzing scholarly data. Very good science, very up to date--2007. Answers the Hill Cumorah question, and the Ether 15:2 question. Its intent, as stated at the beginning, is not to convince anyone, just analyze existing data and research in corelation with the book of mormon. Its a good read for those who believe or don't.

ReplyDeleteThe Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. did not lie. He saw God, our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and another Testament of Jesus Christ.

God lives and loves us. He has re-established his Church again on the Earth. You can choose to believe or not. His work will move forward by his servants and followers.

Why Jerusalem? Why the tomb? Mount of Olives? Simple answer...the movie is about Christ. Those locations were chosen because that is where Christ really was. The Waters of Mormon and many other Book of Mormon locations were not used because Christ was not there. If they were making a documentary about the people in the Book of Mormon, I can almost guarantee there would be Book of Mormon locations on it. Get over yourself! Mormons are very nice people, yeah, most the world doesn't agree with their teachings, but they are good people. You don't see Mormons protesting at Catholic Mass, Kingdom Hall, Mosques...why do you protest against them? They didn't do anything bad to you.

Mormons are well aware of the archeological criticisms surrounding the Book of Mormon. No wool has been pulled over our eyes. Sorry. You should read By the Hand of Mormon some time. Oxford University Press. Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon also sounds like a good read.

BYU's undergraduate program sends more students to Ph.D. programs than ALL but nine other programs in the entire U.S. The more education you get as a Mormon, the more likely you are to stay Mormon. Devout Mormon super-scholars include Richard Bushman, U. Columbia Professor and winner of the Bancroft award, Laurel Ulrich, Harvard Professor and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Terryl Givens, published multiple times through Oxford University Press, Kim Clark, former Dean of Harvard Business School, and many others.
Considering these facts, it might seem to a rational observer that you are the one seeing something that is not there.

I am waiting for an archeological site to prove the Book of Mormon too, but I don't think that one will ever come. I don't think we'll find a sign that says, "Waters of Mormon" or anything like that. Evidence like that would prove without a doubt the Book of Mormon is true and I am pretty sure God wants us to turn to Him as the Book of Mormon asks us, in order to discover the truth of that sacred book.
ReplyDeleteThere are many theories as to the various locations in the Book of Mormon, but the church as never endorsed one or the other. Some are more convincing than others and I think that are interesting to study and learn about them.
The Book of Mormon is the word of God just as the Bible is. Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God and was God's prophet and restored Christ's church on the earth. We all need to discover it for ourselves by turning to God in prayer.
God Bless in our discovery of the truth of this inspired book.
